April 27 – Junior League of Toronto’s Chef’s Showcase Fundraiser

Join us at George Brown College’s Chef School for a cocktail-style evening with food and wine with some of Toronto’s top chefs, while also helping raise funds to support our community programming:
* JLT Culinary Scholarships for graduates of George Brown College’s ACET program for persons recovering from mental health and addiction
* Advocacy and education around the issue of Human Sex Trafficking
* Youth programming on CAMH’s Early Psychosis Wing

Gurth M. Pretty knows cheese! He grew up in Montreal, studied at George Brown College’s Chef School and worked as a professional cook in Atlanta, Dublin, Paris, Brussels and Nuremberg.
He authored the World Gourmand Cookbook Award winning The Definitive Guide to Canadian Artisanal & Fine Cheese and co-authored The Definitive Canadian Wine & Cheese Cookbook, and judged cheese at The Canadian Cheese Grand Prix, the Canadian Cheese Awards & the World Championship Cheese Competition. He is also the president of the jury at the International Cheese Competition by SIAL Canada.
In 2021, he opened his south Mississauga-based shop, Lakeview Cheese Galore.
