It’s name originates from the French word ‘racler’ meaning ‘to scrape’, a reference to scraping the melted cheese from the wheel onto boiled potatoes.
The classic cheese to prepare the broiled dinner of raclette cheese slices, scraped over boiled baby potatoes, cured meat, pickled onions and sweet pickles.
200 grams of sliced cheese is the suggested amount per person for a raclette dinner. We suggest offering two to three different types or flavours of raclette.
